The Agency for the Development Private Enterprise and Collective Economy Development under the Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), recently launched the Dual Transformation Center Project - focused on digital transformation and innovation for environmental and climate protection in Vietnam.
The project aims to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agricultural processing, wood and paper processing, and textile sectors by promoting efficient use of energy and input resources. It leverages digital and green transformation to reduce emissions and encourage sustainable development.
The project is funded with a total budget of 4 million euros.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in agricultural, wood, and paper processing are the target beneficiaries of the Dual Transformation Center Project, which focuses on digital transformation and innovation for environmental and climate protection in Vietnam. These sectors were selected due to their strong export potential, significant contribution to GDP, large labor forces, high energy consumption, heavy use of water resources, and substantial environmental impact.
Accordingly, the project supports SMEs in Vietnam with resource consumption data management, building green digital technology roadmaps, and piloting digital tools to help reduce CO₂ emissions, resource consumption, and production costs.
It also aims to strengthen the capacity of green digital technology solution providers and consulting firms in Vietnam by better expanding their products and services to support SMEs in their carbon reduction and digitalization journeys.
The project will cooperate with government agencies, business associations, universities, and research institutions to develop toolkits, white papers, and share best practices through exemplary success stories.
Scheduled to run from 2025 to 2028, the Dual Transformation Center will organize training courses for SMEs, in-depth workshops with one-on-one guidance and consulting, support the development of enterprise-specific action plans, and pilot successful model implementations.
Activities are expected to be conducted in-person and online nationwide, focusing on areas where businesses in the three target sectors, agricultural processing, textiles and footwear, wood and paper processing, are concentrated.
