Over 350 experts from ministries, local authorities, and businesses will discuss solutions to promote a green economy at the Mekong Startup Forum 2024, scheduled for November 15-16.
The second edition of the Mekong Startup Forum (MSF) in 2024, themed “Green Economy - A New Driver for Development,” aims to accelerate the green transformation and sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region. The event is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People’s Committee of Dong Thap Province.
The 2024 forum’s agenda includes training workshops on green transformation, the Mekong Innovation Competition 2024, and an exhibition-conference on "Green Economy - A New Driver for Development."
On November 15, experts will discuss challenges, initiatives, and solutions to promote a green economy for the Mekong Delta. On November 16, hundreds of experts from government ministries, local authorities, and businesses will engage in discussions about mechanisms, policies, and methods to activate innovation capacities and effectively combine resources to develop a green economy in the region.
This forum is expected to serve as a platform for connecting both public and private sectors, facilitating domestic and international cooperation, and linking innovative trends with the traditional business models of the region to create new competitive advantages for businesses and the Mekong Delta economy.
The first edition of the Mekong Startup Forum in 2022, held in Dong Thap, attracted over 1,000 delegates, including central and local officials, leading experts, young entrepreneurs, and businesses from 13 provinces and cities. The event not only highlighted the importance of sustainable development and climate change mitigation but also promoted a range of initiatives and solutions to transform green economy and innovation goals into tangible results.
A green economy is a low-carbon economy that minimizes environmental harm while conserving natural resources. Its core objective is economic growth while ensuring a clean and sustainable living environment. The green development index is based on 18 indicators, focusing on the environment, climate change, carbon reduction, and green investment.
