Research international experience with land administration

The Institute for Legislative Studies (under The Standing Committee of the National Assembly), in collaboration with the Lam Dong Provincial National Assembly Delegation, has just organized a workshop with the theme "International experience in finance and land planning".

The workshop provided experience from several countries worldwide in handling difficult, complex, and sensitive issues related to land finance, land prices, land planning, and land-use planning. At the same time, the workshop contained additional and multi-dimensional perspectives on these issues from experts, scientists, research agencies, and practical activists in land law.

The workshop focused on issues related to the limitations and problems of the Land Law (amended) and the Planning Law when applied in practice in Viet Nam.

Several professors, doctors, and leading experts in the land management sector believe that land pricing issues should be learned from the experiences of countries that are implementing it effectively, including setting out a common State standard on land pricing; classifying prices based on the practical situation locally under the control of the State; and building a roadmap for upgrading land prices within a specific time limit.

At the workshop, departments and experts also clarified many limitations, meanwhile, proposed solutions to resolve legal policies on recovering land and managing land effectively, such as for National Defense land, forestry land, forest land, reclaimed land, and long-term encroachment by free migrants...

Delegates focused on discussing policies on land finance, land prices, and land planning of some Southeast Asian countries; experience from some European and Asian countries on land valuation; and recommendations for the Land Law (amended)…
