Within the framework of the 2nd Mekong Startup Forum in 2024, the Mekong Green Transformation Network was officially launched.

The network includes a Professional Advisory Board, a Secretariat, and specialized Working Groups. These groups include Green Agriculture, which develops sustainable agricultural initiatives and digitalizes agriculture; Green Tourism, which promotes sustainable and responsible tourism models; and Green Mekong Youth, which aims to raise awareness and entrepreneurial capacity of young people in the environmental field.

Along with research, proposing the application of specific mechanisms, and piloting green economic development, a Mekong Green Transformation Network was born, and breakthrough initiatives are the key to realizing sustainable development initiatives for the Mekong Delta.

This year's Mekong Startup Forum includes activities from September to November 2024. Dong Thap will initiate the initiative to establish the Mekong Green Transformation Network to form a force, promoting public-private cooperation, and contributing to realizing sustainable development solutions, environmental protection, and green transformation.

Notably, at the forum, representatives of the VinaCarbon Impact Investment Fund proposed factors to promote the development of regulations on carbon markets and build standards related to carbon credits, forest projects, and land use. The fund stated that attracting large-scale investment projects will increase resources for green economic development for provinces in the Mekong Delta region.

In 2022, with the theme: "Modern, modern, circular, low-emission agriculture," Mekong Startup marked the first step in expanding the space to connect managers, investors, businesses, and organizations supporting domestic and international startups. Here, the Mekong Delta provinces committed to promoting the target of reducing 30% of total methane emissions in agricultural activities by 2030 compared to 2020 levels. The Mekong Delta is still facing many challenges due to climate change, consumption trends, and changes in agricultural product quality standards. Therefore, green and digital transformations are objective requirements and top priority strategies for the region to develop sustainably. The forum, with the resonance of the initiative to form the Mekong Green Transformation Network, will be maintained and developed to become a platform for practical cooperation and public-private dialogue associated with innovation to support and build businesses and promote green economic orientation for the Mekong Delta region - an area severely affected by the impacts of climate change.
