Joining Hands to Preserve Global Geological Heritage in the Fight Against Climate Change
As part of the 8th International Conference of the Asia-Pacific UNESCO Global Geoparks Network (APGN) held in Cao Bằng from September 5 to 17, 2024, a ceremony was held to mark the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network (GGN). The conference also re-evaluated geoparks that have already been recognized, while promoting the future activities of these geoparks.

On September 8, 2024, within the framework of the 8th International Conference of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network for the Asia-Pacific Region, the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council met, evaluated, and voted to recognize Lang Son Geopark as a UNESCO Global Geopark.

The 8th International Conference of the Asia-Pacific Region UNESCO Global Geoparks Network is scheduled to take place in Cao Bang Province from September 7-15, 2024. This internationally scaled conference is organized by the Bao Bang Provincial People's Committee in collaboration with the National Commission for UNESCO in Viet Nam and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attracting nearly 1,000 domestic and international delegates.
