Strengthening Coordination and Management of Transboundary Water Resources
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has signed a Grant Agreement with the Mekong River Commission (MRC) valued at approximately $5 million for the Mekong Basin Partnership.
37 million Euro to improve water sources for the driest localities
Ninh Thuan province has agreed to implement the project by building a water transfer pipeline from Song Than Reservoir (Ninh Son district) to Lanh Ra Reservoir (Ninh Phuoc district) with an investment of over 37 million Euros by the Government sponsored by the French Development Agency (AFD).

On March 12, in Hanoi, the Department of Water Resources Management (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam) coordinated with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Department of Water Resources (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Lao PDR) and The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) organized a Workshop for the project "Fostering Water and Environmental Security in the Ma and Neun-Cả Transboundary River Basins and Related Coastal Areas, Viet Nam and Lao PDR".

Consultative workshop on the draft revised Law on water resources: adding new regulations

In October 2023, the National Assembly's Science, Technology and Environment Committee on coordination with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment organized a consultative workshop in Da Nang city to collect comments and recommendations on the revised Law on Water Resources. Vice Chairwoman of the NA Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Nguyen Thi Le Thuy and Director of the Department of Water Resources Management Chau Tran Vinh co-chaired the workshop.
