Vietnam officially launched the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) portal - www.jetp.moit.gov.vn

This portal was developed by the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation, and Industrial Promotion, alongside the Department of Electricity (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in collaboration with the International Partners Group (IPG) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Vietnam’s JETP portal bridges the Secretariat, IPG, and the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ)—an independent, private sector-led initiative—connecting stakeholders, particularly those proposing and developing projects to advance a just energy transition within the JETP framework in Vietnam.

The portal also regularly updates strategies, action plans, progress reports, partnership opportunities, policy developments, events, and initiatives related to the just energy transition. It raise awareness and engage diverse stakeholders, including government bodies, development partners, the private sector, and communities.

The interface of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) Portal

The website offers an overview, timely updates, ensures accuracy and transparency regarding the activities of JETP Vietnam, including its objectives, key participants involved in nationwide initiative, and principles of the JETP Secretariat.

It also provides insights to JETP projects in priority areas such as energy transition in transportation; innovation and development, and technology transfer; ensuring the just energy transition progress; improving legal framework in energy transition; transforming coal power plants; developing renewable energy sector; power transmission and energy storage; and energy efficiency.

Moving forward, the JETP Vietnam portal will undergo continuous upgrades, with new features being developed to enhance user experience, improve communication efficiency, and provide timely content and updates on the progress of JETP implementation in Vietnam.

Vietnam and the IPG adopted the Political declaration to establish the Just Energy Transition Partnership in late 2022. JETP is a long-term and ambitious partnership to support Vietnam in its low-carbon transition and climate resilience efforts, accelerating the just and decarbonized transformation of the electricity system and, at the same time, creating new economic opportunities to help Vietnam achieve its net-zero emission goal by 2050.

At the end of 2023, during COP28, Vietnam and the IPG unveiled the Resource Mobilization Plan (RMP) to implement the JETP Declaration. This marks a significant milestone in Vietnam’s commitment to developing clean and sustainable energy.
