Facing water insecurity: What solutions for Viet Nam?
Viet Nam faces significant challenges in managing water resources. However, with decisive actions in resource management, strict enforcement against violations, and close collaboration between agencies and sectors, the country is working to secure its water resources for future generations.
Promoting water diplomacy
After four years of implementing Resolution No. 120/NQ-CP on the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta in response to climate change, Viet Nam's water diplomacy in the Mekong region has achieved significant progress. By actively engaging in bilateral and multilateral mechanisms, Viet Nam has highlighted pressing water security issues in the area and strengthened cooperation to address them.
Implementation of the pollution reduction project for the Vu Gia-Thu Bon River Basin
The Viet Nam component of the project titled "Reducing Pollution and Maintaining Environmental Flows in the East Asian Seas Through Integrated River Basin Management in ASEAN Countries" will be implemented in the Vu Gia-Thu Bồn river basin and the coastal waters of Quang Nam province and Da Nang city.

Ninh Thuan province has agreed to implement the project by building a water transfer pipeline from Song Than Reservoir (Ninh Son district) to Lanh Ra Reservoir (Ninh Phuoc district) with an investment of over 37 million Euros by the Government sponsored by the French Development Agency (AFD).
