The United Nations will continue to collaborate closely with all partners to support efforts in recovery and disaster resilience in Viet Nam in the future.

This was affirmed by Ms. Pauline Fatima Tamesis, UN Resident Coordinator in Viet Nam and Co-Chair of the Disaster Risk Reduction Partnership, at a meeting on the morning of September 9. The conference focused on sharing information regarding the emergency caused by Tropical Storm No. 3 and developing a rapid damage assessment plan organized by the Office of the Disaster Risk Reduction Partnership (DRR Partnership).

Ms. Pauline Fatima Tamesis stated that the United Nations stands ready to assist the Vietnamese government and affected communities during this challenging time. The UN, with a strong commitment, is ready to work with its partners to provide support to the localities most in need. The primary focus remains on assisting the most vulnerable, including women, children, and people with disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary protection and aid.

The United Nations will continue to work closely to assess the situation, mobilize resources, and provide essential assistance to provinces and people affected by Tropical Storm No. 3.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is prepared to offer technical support solutions and risk analysis. "In addition to housing support, we are also ready to provide essentials and food supplies to vulnerable groups, such as low-income and near-poor households," shared Ms. Ramla Khalidi. She added that UNDP and other UN organizations could mobilize resources to create a fund for assistance based on Viet Nam's damage assessment.
